The holidays are a time for people to gather together and celebrate family, faith and community. It’s also a time to enjoy the many special events that make each community’s holiday season even more fun and memorable.

Here are six upcoming holiday events to help you celebrate the season in Frisco, Little Elm and Allen, TX.

Frisco

Christmas in the Square, Frisco – This is the biggest holiday light and music display in North Texas. Now in its 13^th year, the free event is open every evening through December 31. Snow machines will create a winter wonderland of “snow flurries” every Friday and Saturday. December 16 is the Special Event Night vendor show, highlighted by a parachuting Santa, snow play area, snow slides, inflatables and more.

The Nutcracker Ballet, Reedy High School – December 9. The Frisco Ballet presents this timeless story of a young girl and her Christmas Eve adventures with an enchanted nutcracker, the Sugar Plum fairy, fighting mice and other fantastic characters.

Allen

Celebrate the Season at Connemara Meadow Nature Preserve – December 10. Spend the afternoon taking hayrides, enjoying games, listening to carolers and indulging in holiday treats. The festive mood will be enhanced by music from the Allen Philharmonic Tuba Euphonium Quartet.

Holiday Celebration! at Joe Farmer Recreation Center – December 16. Children ages 2-13 can decorate cookies, play games and make holiday crafts. To cap it all off, Santa will read a story and pose for photos with the kids.

Allen Community Band Christmas Concert, Allen Public Library – December 17. Listen to traditional holiday favorites at this free concert by the Allen Community Band and ACB Jazz Band.

Community Christmas Eve Service, Allen Heritage Village – December 24. All are welcome to this free service hosted by First Christian Church of Allen.

Little Elm

Beard Park Christmas – December 12. Free family event with special appeal for kids. The fun includes appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus, a walk-through light show, playground, dessert food trucks and snowball fight.
