Holiday Décor Ideas for Your Front Porch

Front porches can be great focal points on new homes in Rowlett TX. Why not make the most of yours by decorating it for the holidays?

Holiday porch décor comes in an almost endless variety. Here are some of the most popular options to get you started:

Greenery

Evergreens are the natural way to decorate for the holidays. For a minimal approach, hang a greenery wreath or spray on your front door. For a more elaborate look, drape swags of pine over your entry way and around your porch posts and railing. Put decorated potted trees on either side of your front door or place a few branches in a basket or metal pail for a country look.

Ribbons and Bows

Ribbons and bows lend a festive touch to any holiday décor. Tie a wide ribbon around your front door and add a big bow to resemble a gift. Or wrap ribbons around planters, porch columns or greenery swags. Use removable outdoor adhesive to hold ribbons in place.

Sleds and Ice Skates

Lean a wooden sled or a pair of vintage skis against the wall, drape a pair of ice skates over a bench or hang a pair of snowshoes on the front door. Decorate the items with a red ribbon and a sprig of greenery.

Welcome Messages

Finish off your porch décor with a colorful holiday welcome mat, a few holiday throw pillows on a chair, or a note of greeting. Hang a wooden sign that says “Happy Holidays” or write a colorful holiday message on a blackboard.

Try one or more of these ideas at your new home in the Magnolia Landing community in Rowlett TX. Homes in this growing neighborhood have spacious front porches to help you ring in the holidays.

If you like to go all out with holiday porch decor, you’ll love our Plan 26 Orchid Collection. This Cottage-style home has a double-decker front porch! The ground level porch leads into the front entry, while the second level is accessed from a bedroom that would also make a great home office. White porch posts and railings make the porch stand out as a great architectural feature all year round.
