Early fall is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors around homes in Rowlett TX. The weather is still summer-like, but it’s starting to cool a bit and become more pleasant. Happily, there are plenty of places in the area to enjoy nature and fresh air. Here are three of our favorites:
Rowlett Creek Preserve
This 97-acre nature preserve in nearby Garland TX has a mixture of open and wooded areas with 14 looped trails for walking, running and biking. The trails are mostly flat and are marked for outings of various lengths, from one mile to about 16 miles. When it’s time for a break you can enjoy a picnic in the gazebo.
Rowlett Nature Trail
Enjoy glimpses of wildlife as you walk or bike along Rowlett Creek. The trail follows the creek as it leads to Lake Ray Hubbard. Benches along the short, tree-lined trail offer resting spots. Bring your dog for a shaded walk or go fishing along the way.
If you have young children, you’ll want to treat them to a visit to this accessible playground in Rowlett. It features a variety of climbing structures and swings, a sand lot area with a manmade climbable dinosaur skeleton, a rock climbing wall and zip line. The park is zoned into different areas by age group. Safety features include an enclosure fence with one entrance, a rubber surface and access ramps. It also has a picnic area.
All these outdoor attractions are less than 15 minutes from the Magnolia Landing community in Rowlett TX. When you live in Magnolia Landing, you can enjoy an outing to any of these places on the spur of the moment.
