The Ford Center opened to the public August 27^th with an unprecedented quadruple header featuring all eight Frisco high school football teams. Several Cowboys players, including Dez Bryant, watched a few plays during the Star Kickoff and took pictures with a few awestruck students. Three of the four games were televised nationally on ESPNU and NFL Network.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has called the Ford Center a “championship venue” that will “…inspire not only the students here at Frisco but inspire the Dallas Cowboys.” Jones told ESPNU, “These kids – amateur, high school – to be involved in this, they know in a little way they can do it too. And that confidence thing is maybe as important as that speed or size out there.”

The Dallas Cowboys, in partnerships with Ford, Nike, the Texas Lottery, Whataburger and Panasonic, will provide an enriching experience athletically and academically for students through the new facility. For instance, Nike is the exclusive apparel provider for all Frisco ISD sports, the Texas Lottery will develop a grant program to fund fitness and physical activities initiatives in Texas’ public schools, and Panasonic has provided stadium and digital signage solutions throughout The Star, as well as video boards in and outside the Ford Center.
