Are you searching for inspiration on how to design your new home in Plano? You don’t have to go far to find what you need. Simply turn on your TV set, or head to your computer and start surfing the web for “Home Design” and you’ll find plenty of blogs and magazines to keep you busy. To simplify things for you, here is a list of some of the hot home design TV shows, blogs and magazines to check out first:

TV Shows

Cable viewers looking for home décor ideas know right where to go – HGTV. One of the more popular shows to check out is House Hunters. This program focuses on the emotional experience that individuals, couples and families go through when looking for a new home. Viewers also can pick up home design tips as they watch the show.

Extreme Homes is a fun show to watch because it features a close-up look at some of the world’s most spectacular houses ever built. You may not want to build a seaside house made of refrigerator panels, for instance, but you may still get some ideas to make your new home in Plano unique.

Looking for ideas on what type of color to use in your home? Check out Color Splash. Each episode features host David Bromstad and his Miami-based team creating beautiful, unique designs that play off color – incorporating bold contrasts and graphic details for a finished home that’s clean, streamlined and cool.

If you love do-it-yourself projects, you’ll find plenty of blogs that provide inspiration when it comes to home design. Southern Hospitality features tales and photos of the blogger’s fabulous yard sale finds as she decorates her home with all things Southern. There’s even a list of other home design blogs you can check out for more ideas.

The Inspired Room is another blog that features articles and photos about interior design, decorating ideas, simple homemaking and authentic living. The blogger’s philosophy is to share simple, doable ideas with no big budget, complicated skills or fancy power tools required.

The Restyled Home blog focuses on teaching people how to have fun while decorating your home – not to take it all too seriously, and to inject your own personal style into your home.

Stop by a newstand at your local bookstore and you’ll find plenty of home design magazines to look through. Elle Décor features informative articles on interior design and architecture with an international flair.  House Beautiful presents expert design advice and beautiful photos on how to liven up each room of your home.  Finally, Better Homes & Gardens magazine is geared toward people interested in turning inspiration into action, with articles focused on decorating, crafts, entertaining, cooking, healthy living and gardening.
